Education and experience
A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Dr. Neeraj Pershad graduated from Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute as the valedictorian in 1995. In addition, he was awarded the bronze Governor General’s Academic Medal for graduating with the highest academic average from a secondary school in Canada.
After high school, Dr. Pershad attended the University of Toronto, where he was named to the dean’s list and received the V.W. Bladen Award. He then attended the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, from which he graduated with honors in 2001.
Dr. Pershad moved the United Sates, where he completed a one-year, hospital-based general practice residency at the State University of New York in Syracuse. After completing his hospital training, he settled in Winnipeg to pursue orthodontics as a specialty.
Dr. Pershad graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2005 with a certificate in orthodontics and a master’s degree in oral biology. He completed his thesis on dental arch changes in relationship to growth pattern, dental, and skeletal age.
In addition, Dr. Pershad has been involved with graduate orthodontic research at the University of Manitoba with a recent publication in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Community and life outside the office
Aside from his work in the office, Dr. Pershad is dedicated to the community in his personal life as well. He is active with St. Catharines General Hospital, the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation’s “Ride to Conquer Cancer,” YWCA, and Project SHARE. Dr. Pershad also sponsors girls and boys soccer, hockey, go-carting, and robotics. As a result of his service, Dr. Pershad received the Top 40 Under 40 Award for business achievement and community involvement in 2013.
In his free time, Dr. Pershad enjoys spending time with his wife, running, kickboxing, and playing basketball.
